Photography, for me, is an act of resistance against forgetting. Every image I make is an attempt to hold something that is already slipping away — a quality of light, a gesture, the particular silence of a place at a specific hour. I am drawn not to the spectacular, but to the quiet weight of ordinary moments that carry within them the full complexity of human experience.

My work moves between landscape and portraiture, between the still and the inhabited. I am interested in the traces people leave on places, and the traces places leave on people. A worn threshold, a shadow cast at dusk, a face turned slightly away — these are the fragments from which I try to construct something true.

Time is always present in my images, even when it is invisible. I think about duration — the long exposure, the patient wait, the return to a place across seasons. I think about what photography cannot capture: the smell of rain on stone, the sound of a distant bell, the feeling of being somewhere for the last time without knowing it.

Memory is unreliable, and I find that honest. My photographs are not documents. They are impressions — shaped by what I noticed, what I chose to frame, what I let go. They are as much about absence as presence, as much about what lies outside the frame as within it.

I make images because I need to. Because looking carefully at the world — really looking — is one of the few things that makes me feel fully alive. And because sometimes, in the space between the shutter opening and closing, something is preserved that would otherwise be lost entirely.
